Cleaning and or replacing your Mass Airflow Sensor

I will be demonstrating this on a Gm product motor vehicle but the process is the same for most vehicles. This is a very simple maintenance to perform. The product used to clean the sensor is available at any parts store. The product you find may or may not be the same brand as I have but it should work in the same fashion.

(1). First disconnect the positive terminal of your battery. This helps to insure the vehicle and mechanic is safe.

(2). Locate the Mass Airflow Sensor, it will be located somewhere along the air intake of the engine.

(3). Remove the screws holding the sensor in place and gently lift it from its position in its cavity.

(4). With the sensor removed you can replace or clean the sensor. If your replacing the sensor, it is a simple matter of reversing the procedure.

(5). When cleaning the sensor it is important to never touch the small wire inside the unit. Clean the unit and wire with the M.A.F. sensor cleaning spray. Don't skimp on the cleaner it is important to get all the deposits left on the sensor off. When you are satisfied with your cleaning replace the sensor in it cavity and replace the retaining screws.
