A Lesson to Learn

I came across a post today on FaceBook. It was posted by a family member, young and very, very wise family member I must say. I have not asked permission to share this so I will keep her identity hidden but I will say I am proud to know at least one young lady with such a beautiful mindset. We could all learn a lot from her.

"You know...I got to thinking today and this world has turned sour. I used to watch t.v. and get on FaceBook to read happy statuses and inspiring news, but lately here, I have seen nothing but fights, death, and threats of hurting people...In fact, I saw something where someone posted a guy's address so people would attempt to KILL him! What has this world come to? Instead of hurting or looking for the negative, look for someone to thank that has had some kind of impact on your life. Thank your parents for the love and support they have given you. Thank your friends that were there when you needed them. Thank your boyfriend/girlfriend, wife/husband for loving you the way that they do. Thank God for the life that He has given you and for sending His Son to save your soul from eternal damnation. Here is a challenge for you today. Take the time to thank at least one person for something they have done for you. Whether its a favor they did or simply just being there, thank them. I love you guys ♥"

I would have to choose her, to Thank today for giving me a little more hope for the youth of today.
So I will end this post by saying "Thank you Hair, you're one wise young lady.

Homemade Green Bean Casserole

I decided to share this particular  Squidoo Lens, since I myself was in fact looking for this recipe, it seems just at the moment she shared it on her Facebook wall. Needless to say I immediately went and took all the notes I believe I will need to be successful in creating my own families casserole.  I hope this helps a few others as much as it helped me, both in knowledge and confidence.
Included are two different green bean casserole recipes: the quick and easy Campbell's soup recipe, and the fresh, gourmet homemade green bean casserole recipe from Alton Brown.

Silent Survivors an Introduction

There are a group of cancer survivors out there that go for the most part unrecognized. These survivors are the families and friends of the cancer patient. Since being diagnosed our family has been very blessed with many such Silent survivors.

We stand by our loved one as they go through the various treatments and tests, supporting them in every way as they progress through treatment. Many of these survivors are themselves at a loss as to how to support their family member or friend. So finding ways to cope with their own new stresses seems even harder in some cases. Many cancer victims have young children that have no concept of the problems the adults are facing. Many victims are in fact children themselves placing new and life changing events for them and their parents.

I do hope to be able to help at least one person through sharing our experiences during this time. I feel that if I can reach even one single person and help in any way then I will feel like I have done what I need to do. Please visit my new blog  Silent Survivors, subscribe to Silent Survivors to receive email updates for each post. Thank you for your time and hope to see you there, feel free to comment I do not monitor the comments unless they are totally outrageous.
