Zombies expected in downtown Rome, GA
"A Zombie Outbreak has occurred at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The largest threat is to Downtown Rome; specifically Broad Street. There is a large community celebration planned, complete with live music and fireworks, so quick response is needed to save Rome."
From : http://rfpra.com/zombie.html
Runners can choose to run a traditional 5K or a zombie-infested 5K. Those who choose to run the infested 5K will wear a flag football belt, and zombies along the course will try to snag their flags. Runners who cross the finish line with belt intact finish alive; those who cross without their flags will join the un-dead.

Silent Survivors: Emotions vs Radio Dermatitis
Silent Survivors: Emotions vs Radio Dermatitis
One of the most under looked side of radiation treatments, is the the emotional turmoil brought on by the treatment. I have tried to observe and document the entire process of my wife's cancer treatment from discovery through to her final treatment. I decided to do this because once she had been diagnosed, I began to research any and all information i could get to learn as much as I could. My attempts found most of the normal info we had already received from her various caregivers. Although I did find some information about emotional and mental support, I did not find much in the area of actual first hand observations of a patient and close family member.

Silent Survivors an Introduction
There are a group of cancer survivors out there that go for the most part unrecognized. These survivors are the families and friends of the cancer patient. Since being diagnosed our family has been very blessed with many such Silent survivors.
We stand by our loved one as they go through the various treatments and tests, supporting them in every way as they progress through treatment. Many of these survivors are themselves at a loss as to how to support their family member or friend. So finding ways to cope with their own new stresses seems even harder in some cases. Many cancer victims have young children that have no concept of the problems the adults are facing. Many victims are in fact children themselves placing new and life changing events for them and their parents.
I do hope to be able to help at least one person through sharing our experiences during this time. I feel that if I can reach even one single person and help in any way then I will feel like I have done what I need to do. Please visit my new blog Silent Survivors, subscribe to Silent Survivors to receive email updates for each post. Thank you for your time and hope to see you there, feel free to comment I do not monitor the comments unless they are totally outrageous.

Seizing the day
Today is the time to step in, recognize, or create opportunities to take it to the next level and communicate leadership or earn respect through performance. Empower yourself to rise to the occasion by a window of opportunity and transform it through motivation. No matter what you face you can transform it into a useful situation, always learning and never failing to try your best.
May is always a busy month for us, but with the beginning of my wife's chemo therapy treatment, it has become even more so. Thus I have made the decision to not only seize the day but to in fact seize every single moment of every day I am given. I the past couple of months it has become all to clear the value and preciousness of life. I have been recently humbled to the extent that I do indeed know the gifts I have been given and I try harder and harder each day to be both aware and thankful of all the precious gifts I have and the ones I have yet to receive.
Cancer has long and intense effects on those it touches, not only the patient but the family and friends that care for and love the patient. Some of the changes we fully expected, some came as a total surprise. I will at a later time go into more detail of these changes and the ways we've found to deal with them at a later date. Be sure to check back when I introduce
Silent Survivors a new blog I have been developing as a hopefully helpful guide and journal of our journey as we navigate through this strange land of cancer.
So once again I must say take not only the day but every moment of every day and make it your own. Bring your world around to where you want it, don't except the luck of the draw, stack the deck in your favor at every opportunity.
